We, (that is our little paranormal investigation team) spent some time in Aug doing a little (in the dark) vigil mainly in the morgue, theatre/ballroom (that was) and a few of the wards that were accessible. We experienced audibles ie voices in the theatre and the ward adjacent to where the revolving wood door is, they were very clear and came out on my voice recorder. Yes we did hear the owl hooting and a few quit a lot of bats flying about but these were deffinately a female voice and the site was VERY quiet. Steve and Gill thought they had seen a the shadow of a person run behind them in one of the upper floors which was also accompanied by an audible voice!!!! (if your familiar with the iste is was where an arrow ppointing up the stairwell saying 'death this way' unfortunaley time ran out for us and we could not investigate any other areas.

mmm please excuse the pun, but The Asylum does have a haunted feel, its like your being watched in anticipation, the atmosphere is heavy, but i think we all know why. Ive never felt frightened thought, just vey very sad. Was intending to get over there over xmas but did not manage it.

To be honest, I don't find the place spooky at all and never did. Its just a derelict hospital undergoing decay. I was there a week or so back and made some photographs inside the place and didnt once feel spooked. Although, that could be that I was a patient there for years and was used to the place. I just thought it was sad it was in such a state and was sold on so cheaply!!!

You were a patient, what do you make of whats going on with it now?
I must admit when I have been there I feel something, maybe a presence. Or just maybe the history there is just so strong.

Is the main entrance accessible? i had read the tower was off limits?

No the main entrance has been kicked 'shut' type thing by vandals a while back. No work is due to happen apparently, it was a very basic level agreement like 'where the recreational areas will go, where the houses will go' and so on & so forth.
I think it feels like something is still in the air there...
